Holiday Scams

The signs to look out for relating to holiday scams.

Are you thinking about booking a holiday for the summertime???

Have you even thought about the signs to look out for relating to scams???

Whether you’re planning to book a caravan in Clacton, a beach holiday in Barbados or an alpine escape in Andermatt, we have some top online safety tips for you.

Online fraudsters take advantage of the fact that you’re desperate to get away, and trick you into paying for a holiday that doesn’t exist.

Would you risk paying a company or person you don’t know by bank transfer for a holiday?

We hope not, as that’s a red flag for travel fraud. Always pay by credit card.

Do proper research into package holidays, accommodation, flights, cruises, pilgrimages or any other kind of break to check it really exists and is being advertised legitimately.

Don’t fall victim to fraud.

Looking to book an @Airbnb? Always communicate and pay on the Airbnb platform to ensure you’re fully protected, and use the Airbnb app or go directly to:

www.airbnb.co.uk

If you can, book holidays and travel through members of recognised trade associations like ABTA or ATOL.

Check they’re members on these associations’ official websites.
