Five star rating for Flintshire Recycling Centres

Residents across Flintshire are singing the praises of their local household recycling centres, with glowing reviews painting a picture of friendly, hardworking teams who go above and beyond.

Leading the way is Greenfield Household Recycling Centre, with an outstanding 4.9-star rating from over 600 Google reviews. Across the full network of five sites, the message from residents is the same – it is the people who make the difference.

Residents have praised staff by name and in their own words. At Greenfield, one reviewer said: "Always friendly and happy to help, especially from Andy and Doug who seem to always be smiling." Another summed it up simply: "Been using the recycling centre for many years and always found the staff to be friendly and helpful."

At Oakenholt, one resident praised staff for “going the extra mile”. They added: "What a helpful trio of gentlemen that assisted me this afternoon. Mike, Dave and Les were just amazing, helping me empty my very full car of garden waste.”

At Mold, a visitor wrote: "Friendly and very helpful staff. Thank you for all you do in all weathers. A well-kept, clean site."

The praise reflects the efforts of a dedicated workforce serving hundreds of Flintshire residents seven days a week.

Flintshire County Council is currently working towards achieving the Welsh Government target of 70% of all household waste to be recycled. The county’s five household recycling centres play a vital role in that performance, with over 76% of material from the centres recycled in the last year.

Chris Goddard, Streetscene Service Manager at Flintshire County Council, said:

“I want to take this opportunity to say a genuine thank you to every single person working across our five sites.

“These are hardworking men and women who turn up every day in all weathers, help residents who are sometimes struggling with heavy loads, keep the sites clean and well-run, and do it all with a smile. The reviews speak for themselves, and they are a real credit to the Council.

“Greenfield in particular has built an outstanding reputation, and that does not happen by accident. It happens because of the consistency and character of the team there, day in, day out. But the same commitment runs through every site across the county.

“To our staff at Greenfield, Mold, Buckley, Rockliffe and Sandycroft: you are seen, you are valued, and these reviews are the proof that residents notice and appreciate what you do. Well done, every one of you.”

Residents who use the household recycling centres are encouraged to leave a review on Google to let the teams know the difference they make.
