Eastgate Square comes into bloom with immersive floral installation across the shopping centre

Eastgate Square has unveiled a major new floral installation for Summer, transforming the centre into a colourful celebration of nature, placemaking and shared moments in the heart of Chester.

“Eastgate in Bloom” sees oversized suspended flowers installed throughout the centre, stretching from Eastgate Street through to the historic St. Michael’s Arcade, along with a giant shopping bag feature on Newgate Row and floral installation in The Square.

Designed to bring something uplifting, immersive and visually striking into the city centre, the installation also includes a giant floral shopping bag, a dedicated selfie frame and a decorated central tree feature within St. Michael’s Arcade.

The installation follows the hugely positive response to Eastgate Square’s 2025 Christmas decorations and the pink hearts installation which coincided with the opening of H beauty earlier this year, which encouraged thousands of visitors to stop, explore the space and share their experiences online.

To celebrate, the centre be handing out free bouquets in the centre to put a smile on shopper’s faces with blooms from Natalyas Home Story, who was the florist behind the opening of H beauty.
