CWFL Weekend Round Up

Here's the latest results from the Chester and Wirral Football League...

CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division:

Hoole Rangers fresh from last week’s brilliant Cheshire cup win made the short journey to top of the league Waggon & Horses and 20 minutes in Hoole found themselves 3-0 up thanks to efforts from Liam Edwards, Josh Leach and Charlie Bell. However, Waggon netted just before half time to give themselves hope and heading into the second half Man of the match Nahid Rahmam inspired the comeback as they flipped the game to net another three times to win a thrilling encounter 4-3. Waggons goals coming via a Gary Roberts double and singles for Kieran Ball and Premier Division top scorer Harley Bennion, in a result which seen Waggon keep their 100% record to remain top of the Premier Division and open a six-point lead.

Kelsall FC had a narrow 2-1 victory against Sutton Rangers with Jimmy Studley and Pat McConville bagging the goals for Kelsall and Shakeel Sterling netting Suttons consolation.

CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship:

Not content with topping the Premier Division, Waggon & Horses Reserves side are leading the Championship after taking another three points this time dispatching of Hoole Rovers 4-1 thanks to goals from Aiden Field, Aden Parker, Reece Hollinger and Elis Cook.

Neston Nomads Reserves had Aiden Middleton in fine form as he helped himself to a hat-trick Neston’s other goals came via an own goal and an Alex Butterworth single as Neston secured a 5-1 win against Sutton Rangers.

Handbridge FC moved up to third after defeating Cheshire Vikings by the odd goal in five. Taylor Owen, Jack Radford and Jake Williams all scored for Handbridge with Liam Keating netting a double for Cheshire Vikings.

Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2:

Only one game in the Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2 seen Neston Nomads Vets leap frogged Birkenhead Vets to go top of the league. A Sam Bunbury four timer and singles from Chris Kennedy, Andy Bryon, Paul Ellison and Jim Thompson seen Neston run out 8-3 winners.

Tarvin Precision Vets Division 5:

Two games in Division 5 produced an impressive 22 goals. The first seen Rake & Pikel Vets net five time thanks to a Ben Stern brace and singles for Chris Scutter, Mark Hughes and Peter Wheeler only for Cheshire Vikings Vets to net seven times!  Paul Kane was the main man as he netted five times, with Phillip Beasley and Jack Towers grabbing singles for Vikings.

In another high scoring game Port Sunlight Vets travelled to Witton Vets and in a competitive game which seen some great football played by both sides it was Port Sunlight vets who secured the points with Stu Bale bagging a treble, Matty Nayland, Karl Stinchcomb and Mark Mosey grabbing singles. Netting Witton’s consolation goals was Kev Douglas who bagged a double and singles from Kyle Dyson and Chris Royle.
