Here's the latest round-up from the Chester and Wirral Football League...

Friday night Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2:

On Friday night Neston Nomads Vets opened up a five-point lead to cement their position at the top of the table with a 3-1 win against West Kirby Vets. A Paul Ellison double plus a single from Mike Ryan gave Nomads the win with Shaun Rooney netting West Kirby’s consolation goals.

CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division Top Scorers:

Heavy Rain wiped out the entire Premier division, So a chance to look at who has been scoring all the goals for our Premier division sides.

Harley Bennion has been the main reason Waggon & Horses are top of the Premier league. He has been in scintillating form to hammer home a five timer, two hattricks, two doubles and two singles to notch 16 league goals and 1 cup goal for a total of 17 goals in 7 games. Bennion has also netted in every game he has played this season and Waggon will be hoping his fine form continues for the rest of the season.

In second place is last seasons Championship top scorer Lee Parry who is a consistent scorer most weeks for FC Farndon and will surely be in the running come the end of the season. In the first three league games Parry bagged a six-timer, a four-timer and a single for an impressive 11 league goals and at the end of September Parry netted a hattrick as Farndon defeated Christleton 4-3 in the league cup to put him on 11 league goals and 3 cup goals for a total of 14.

Shaftsbury’s Alfie Naylor is third with 8 league goals. Alfie netted a single in each of Shafts first two league games then followed that up by netting 4 as Shaftsbury demolished Sutton 9-0. Shafts early season good form has recently deserted them, but Alfie will be looking to get back amongst the goals to put pressure on both Bennion and Parry come the end of the season.

Other players hoping to be in the mix are Paul Kane (Shaftsbury) 6 league goals, Josh Leach (Hoole Rangers) 5 league and 2 cup goals and Ben Barrett (Waggon) 5 league and 1 cup.  Next week we will look at the championship’s top scorers.

CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship:

Two games survived from the Championship as Handbridge moved to second with a fine 4-2 win against third placed Upton JFC. Jack Radford bagged a double and Sam Balderstone and Mitch Barclay also got in on the act with a goal each.  Tom Berry and Luke Charlton netted for Upton. Sutton Reserves secured their first point of the season with an encouraging 1-1 draw with Hoole Rovers. Danny Carr netted for Sutton and Ben Ryan scored for Hoole.

Only three other games survived the weather all in the Tarvin Precision Vets Leagues.

Tarvin Precision Vets Division 3:

Ben Walley and Micky Carroll both netted doubles to go along with efforts from David Smith and Andy Murphy as Upton JFC Vets destroyed Tarvin Vets 6-1, with Max Asbury scoring for Tarvin.

Tarvin Precision Vets Division 4:

Frodsham Vets had Antony Ollier, Will Beatles, Andrew Samson and Joseph Morphet on target as they ran out 4-1 winners against Great Sutton Vets who netted via an effort from Lee Hearn.

Hartford Vets opened up a three-point lead by defeating nearest rivals Hoole Rangers Vets in a closely contested game.  Jordon Oldham and Dan Bowen getting the goals that secured Hartford the points.
