Teams at the Countess of Chester Hospital have been boosted by strong support from the local community.
A number of local businesses and organisations, including restaurants, confectionaries and a school, have taken the time to show Countess staff how much their efforts are valued.
Chief Executive, Dr Susan Gilby, said: “I have been overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness shown to our staff and the hospital over the weekend. It is heartening to know that people want to help and support our wonderful NHS in such testing times.”
Some of the donations received at the hospital have included:-
Starbucks – Coliseum branch donated Sandwiches and Cakes.
Carluccio’s Chester branch - biscuits.
Hickory’s contacted to donate frozen food - Outpatients Matron was contacted and this was donated to a local the soup kitchen
Wagamama’s Cheshire Oaks - donated meals.
The Cottage Tea Shop Frodsham – hampers.
Hotel Chocolat Cheshire Oaks – chocolates.
Pizza Hut Chester donated Pizza’s for the night shift
Neptune Class, Dee Point Primary - the children delivered hand-made cards and messages showing appreciation for staff
Nando's Broughton Park - Staff from Nando's delivered surplus food to staff in A&E
Dough Dough, Northgate St - Staff from the Dough Dough pizzeria dropped off pizzas in our Outpatients department

All wards and departments have benefitted from all the food that has been donated and they are all very grateful for this.
