Chester’s Fashion Marketing and Communication Class of 2023 are skilled and prepared to change fashion futures

Preparing to leave the strong legacy of Studio 204 behind, the University of Chester’s 2023 Fashion Marketing and Communication students are excited, motivated and eager to take their first steps into the industry.

As a listed NSS top 10 course for fashion in the UK, we are proud to be graduating from Studio 204, feeling equipped and confident to immerse ourselves within the ever-changing world of fashion. Gaining a variety of different invaluable skills across disciplines in verbal and visual communication, digital storytelling, brand development and trend forecasting to name a few, as graduates we are ready to launch our careers.

We are currently preparing for our Launch Night in May, which will showcase our final campaign work and the legacy we have created since 2020. Prominent Industry members will be in attendance including past students from the course. Graduating from an environment where networking and building industry connections is key, we have been fortunate to have had guidance and support from an array of successful industry mentors, including Robbie Sinclair, Christopher Shannon, Eden Loweth, Tony Green and Jennifer Hodgson.

Carrying through Studio 204’s pay it forwards system, we have been able to learn and develop our abilities by working in industry, alongside many of our past well-established alumni, gaining work experience and industry placements with brands such as GLAMOUR UK, MODA PR, Public Desire, Kaiia The Label, and Constantine Media.

When asking some of my current class members about their experience within Studio 204, their response proved how much of a positive impact the past three years have had. Student Erin Gribbon stated, “My time at Studio 204 has been amazing and has opened so many doors for me into the industry. The course supported me and has allowed me the freedom to establish myself as a creative in my industry”. Another classmate, Izzi Antoniazzi said “I have gained so much confidence and independence. I am truly proud of the experiences I’ve had and thankful for all the opportunities offered to me. One day I would love to start a successful business of my own”.

Coming to the end of our studies as Fashion Marketing and Communication students at the University of Chester, we are proud and enthusiastic to share our individual journeys that we have each travelled during the course of creating our Final Major Projects. Our progressions, visual imagery and narrative communications can be explored across the Studio 204’s social media, particularly our Instagram, @uoc_studio_204. From creating digital and futuristic fashion futures, to sustainably driven visual campaigns, we have each succeeded in communicating our own individual space within such a vast industry.

Studio 204 are also excited to welcome the next year’s cohort of students onto the newly developed Fashion Communication Marketing (Social Media) course this September, offering students a new perspective on learning within a digital and forward-thinking manner. Setting students apart from others, this new course will be led by industry-based mentorships, allowing students to network and make industry connections early on within their studies, preparing them with a strong list of contacts as they work through industry-inspired briefs.

Working over two years, the Fashion Communication Marketing course focuses on creating a paralleled real life working environment, changing up the ways in which innovative and forward-thinking courses are taught, again having the support from industry mentors, Christopher Shannon, and Tony Green.
