Chester show celebrates best in new art and design

The creative talents, commitment and achievements of ones-to-watch in the art and design world are being celebrated with a degree show in Chester.

The University of Chester’s Art and Design end-of-year exhibition is showcasing the work of final year undergraduate students. Now in its final week of three, it is running until Friday (June 30), at the Creative Campus, Kingsway.

Titled All Inclusive, the free event represents the culmination of students’ degree studies, demonstrates the uniqueness of each student, and offers an insight into their professional future.

The display has transformed the Creative Campus with around 1,000m2 of space dedicated to the varied and inspirational work of the soon-to-be graduates from all seven of the Art and Design BA Honours degree courses: Fashion Design; Fashion Marketing Communication; Fine Art; Graphic Design; Interior Design; Photography and Product Design.

The show runs from 10am to 4pm each day.

Associate Professor Bernadine Murray, Head of the Department of Art and Design, said:

“All Inclusive is the culmination of years of dedication and creativity. Our degree show is a tribute to the remarkable efforts of our talented students. I extend a warm invitation to all art and design enthusiasts to experience their astounding creations first hand.”

Graphic Design and Photography student, Ellie Castle said: “Putting together a photography exhibition is both rewarding and challenging, trying to find the right visual narrative that brings together all the individual aspects of the photos is harder than I imagined but I feel proud of what I was able to accomplish.”
