Here are the weekend results for the Chester and Wirral Football League...
CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division
Chester Nomads Reserves and Christleton shared a point a piece on Saturday in CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division after playing out an eight-goal thriller. Christleton had Matt Jones, Matt Hayes, Rob McNally and Zacc Caveney on target but Nomads also hit four with a double from Jordan Lee and singles for both Time Ashbrook and Wesley Sinclair.
Waggon & Horses pursuit for perfection continued with a 5-1 route of Kelsall. Ben Barratt and James Lloyd both hit doubles and Waggon’s leading scorer, Harley Bennion also got in on the act with a single. Kelsall’s consolation goal was scored by Mikey Taylor.
Shaftsbury had Alfie Naylor on target with a brace and Paul Kane also netted as Shafts seen off Hoole Rangers 3-1. Martin Graves netted for Hoole.
Bottom club Sutton Rangers leap frogged Moreton with a 3-0 victory, Joe Dowthwaite, Dan Smith, and Alex Morgan were the marksmen for Sutton.
CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship
Big game of the day in the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship seen second placed Upton JFC defeat league leaders Waggon & Horses Reserves 4-2. On target for Upton was Cae McGovern, Matt Robbo, Joe Bartley, and Cam Dewhurst whilst Ellis Moore and Ryan McCleary bagged for Waggon.
Cestrian Alex had Ashley Reed and Adie Graves on target in a 2-1 win against Neston Nomads Reserves who replied with a Lucas McKendry strike.
Sutton Rangers Reserves had Azeez Owolabi put in a Man of the match performance as Sutton won by the odd goal in seven against Cheshire Vikings. James Marszalek, Joe Davies, Jay Rivers, and Oli Waggott all bagged for Sutton whilst Billy Beasley hit a brace and Liam Keating a single for Vikings.
CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2
Ellesmere Port Red Lions had Man of the Match and hat-trick hero Graeme Davidson to thank for their 4-2 win against Winsford Town Vets. Hard working James Hudson also grabbed a goal as Lions moved to within three points of leaders Neston Vets. Michael Edwards and John Hurst scored for Winsford Town.
CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 3
Parkfield vets and Eastham vets faced off on Friday night and it was the former that came away with the points winning 5-3. Kevin Pink and Dave Woods both bagged doubles and Jimmy Breheny grabbed a single for Parkfield whilst Eastham’s Mike Burrows bagged a goal of the season contender as he smashed in a screamer. Joe McAnespie and Dan Nettles were also bagged for Eastham.
Wirral FA Junior Cup Semi-Final
Higher Bebington Kalma’s vets unbeaten run in cup games came to an end on Friday night as Hooton vets progressed through to the Junior Cup final with a brilliant 4-1 win. Eddie Jebb netted a brace with Chay Dysart and Paul Howell also netting for Peter Fearon’s Men. John Walker scored Kalma’s consolation goal.
