CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division:

Waggon and Horses clinched the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division title on Saturday by defeating Hoole Rangers 4-2. Waggon had two goal heroes in James Lloyd and Ben Barrett as Hoole replied with efforts from Victor Arogundale and Josh Leach.

Waggon manager George Mortimer and assistant Tom Foy’s hard work has paid off handsomely with a flawless record of twelve wins from twelve games with the new objective to maintain the unbeaten record and secure victories in the remaining four games for the perfect record. The goals have rained in for Waggon as they have netted at least three times in all league games played so far with leading scorer Harley Bennion the main man having plundered 21 goals so far to go along with Ben Barratt (13 goals) and James Lloyd (9 goals) respectively. Congratulations to everyone connected to Waggon & Horses on a brilliant season so far.

With the sad news that last season champions Blacon Youth have now folded, Waggon apart the table now has a slightly different look to it as Christleton moved into the runners up spot after Saturdays 2-1 victory over Shaftesbury Youth.  Alan Bond and Joe Bowdler both got on the scoresheet to secure the points. As Shaftesbury replied with the evergreen Jimmy Gomes notching.

Kelsall FC moved to third after beating bottom club Sutton Rangers 5-2. Mikey Taylor grabbed a brace to go along with efforts from Adam Pickering, Pat McConville and an own goal, whilst FC Farndon’s where on the receiving end of a 4-1 defeat away at Chester Nomads 3RD, a Leo Davenport goal for Farndon was negated by a Cam Clarke double and singles from both Jordan Lee and Will Burke.

CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship:

The Waggon Bandwagon continues in the CWFL Championship as an Aiden Field treble, and a Jordan O’Brien double secured a 5-2 win against Hoole Rovers to cement their eleven-point lead at the top. Victory against second placed Upton JFC on the 17th of February will secure the Championship title for Lewis Bradleys men, who will be looking to make it a double celebration.

Handbridge FC hit Orange Athletic for twelve without reply as Jack Radford and Andrew Pratt both netted hat-tricks to go along with doubles for both Keiye Williams and Sam Balderstone, Taylor Owens, and Jake Williams both netted singles.

Ian Davies and Liam Keating both bagged doubles and a James Marshall single gave Cheshire Vikings a 5-1 win against Neston Nomads Reserves whose consolation came via an Archie Hughes effort.

CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 1:

In the Tarvin Precision Vets Division 1, Queens Park Vets gave Mersey Royal Vets a scare in a thrilling encounter. Stu Hardman gave Royal the lead inside the first minutes with two headed goals, however Queens Struck back before the half was out when Dotty Bolton lifted over the Royal Keeper before Nick Scholes netted a 30-yard thunderbolt. Early in the second half Kris Hesketh netted a rocket of his own as his 30-yard effort sailed into the net, Steve Abbott turned smartly before finding the bottom corner to make it 3-3 before Nick Scholes lobbed the keeper from 35-yards to put Queens 4-3 up. With twenty minutes to go Royal piled on the pressure and equalised when Terry Cotgrave netted before Danny Edwards netted from close range in the final moments to win it for Royal who now have an impressive 15-point lead at the top of the table.

CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2:

Ellesmere Port Red Lions Vets moved up to second after defeating West Kirby Vets by the odd goal in three. Player- Manager David Fenwick netted for Red Lions before Niel Atkinson levelled matters for West Kirby. It was left until the 95th minute when Ben Powell netted a brilliant header to win it for Red Lions who had Amer Rashid in inspired form throughout the game.

Winsford Town Vets shocked Upton Vets to secure a superb 7-3 away win. Upton had Mike Ashford on target with a double to go along with a Kev Garland single as Upton led 3-2 at half time.  However, Winsford rallied and replied with a Liam Goulding four timer and a John Hurst double to go along with a Shaun Fletcher strike as Winsford ran riot in the second half.
