Cheshire Constabulary has opened its latest recruitment window and is inviting anyone interested in a career in policing to a special event at its Winsford Headquarters on Wednesday 24th September.
The event will give people the chance to meet officers, ask questions and experience first-hand what a policing career can offer.
Attendees will be able to:
- Meet officers from a variety of specialist teams, including the Underwater Search Team, Drone Unit, Roads and Crime Unit, Firearms, Dog Unit, and detectives.
- Speak directly with the recruitment, training and vetting teams about the application process.
- Learn more about what it’s like to train and work as a police constable in Cheshire.
- Take part in a practice fitness bleep test – attendees are welcome to bring along sports kit if they would like to give it a try.
Assistant Chief Constable Alison Ross said:
"Becoming a police constable is more than just starting a new job – it’s joining a team that works every day to protect people and make our communities safer. Policing is a very challenging – and rewarding – career and we’re looking for people from all walks of life who have the passion, resilience and commitment to make a difference to apply.
“Cheshire is a high performing police force that has been praised for its excellent performance in keeping people safe, reducing crime and giving victims an effective service. We have retained our position as the safest place in the North West which reflects the dedication of our staff and officer in protecting the public. Latest figures show that Cheshire has the lowest crime rate in the North West compared with the other police forces in the region.
“If you are interested in joining a high performing police force that has Neighbourhood policing at the heart of its approach then the recruitment event in Winsford is a great chance to speak with our officers, ask questions and get a real sense of what life at Cheshire Constabulary is like. If you’ve ever thought about a career in policing, now is the time to find out more and take that first step.”
Applications for new recruits are open now and will close at 9am on Monday 6th October.
We encourage you to visit the recruitment section on our website where we have recently launched a new chatbot facility that will be able to answer any questions you have on the application process if you are not able to attend in person.
