Check if you are eligible for COVID-19 vaccine

Residents who are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in Cheshire West and Chester are encouraged to book their appointment.

Everyone aged 50 and over in England can now book their coronavirus vaccination, following today’s announcement.

As the COVID-19 vaccination programme progresses in the borough, people from a number of priority groups are invited to come forward.

The groups currently being offered the COVID-19 vaccination in the borough include:

• people aged 50 and over
• people who are a main carer for someone at high risk of coronavirus
• frontline health and social care workers
• people at high risk from coronavirus (clinically extremely vulnerable)
• people with a learning disability
• people who have a condition that puts them at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)

Cllr Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “The progress of the vaccination programme through priority groups in our communities can give us real hope for the future.

“Vaccination and testing are key routes out of this pandemic and I would urge you to come forward if and when you are eligible. Please make sure you attend your appointment when it’s your turn and re-book if you are unable to attend.

“We cannot let our guard down though and must remember to keep washing our hands regularly, cover our faces when in an enclosed space and keep social distancing to stop the spread of COVID-19, even after we’ve had our vaccination.”

Residents who are eligible can book an appointment at: www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination, where they can choose a time slot and location that suits them.

People who are eligible, but without online access, can call 119 to book a vaccination between 7am and 11pm seven days a week.  Vaccination appointments can also be booked on behalf of people they care for if they are unable to do it themselves.
