CELEBRATIONS FOR LITTLE SUTTON PAIR AFTER £60K LOTTERY WIN

A pair of neighbours from Little Sutton are celebrating today after learning they have won £30,000 each with People’s Postcode Lottery.

CH66 4JY was announced as a winner with the lottery on Thursday 18th February.

One of the lucky locals was Jean Taggart (69), who found out about the win via video call with People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson.

As a cheque with the prize total was revealed Jean said: “Oh my God, wow!

“I thought if I’d got a thousand it would be lovely!”

Jean, who was joined on the call with her son Callum, added: “It’s just unbelievable. I can’t believe this. It happens to other people, doesn’t it?"

When asked how she would celebrate Jean said: “I do a bit of facetiming with some friends so I might meet up with them tonight and have a drink with them.”

The windfall was clearly a big surprise for Jean but she does have a few plans for her winnings: “I’m needing my back patio done, I think that’s what I’m going to do!”

Originally from near Lanark in Scotland, Jean hopes she can arrange a trip to visit her sisters, who she hasn’t seen since last year, in Scotland once lockdown has lifted. But she also has another dream holiday in mind: “I’ve always wanted to go to Canada, to go see Niagara Falls!”

The other winning local chose to remain anonymous but their prize will be paid into their bank account.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners. He said: “It was lovely to bring this great news to Jean and Callum, what a great surprise for them. I hope Jean gets to visit her family in Scotland soon and take that dream trip to Canada as well.”
