Bunbury Mill opening again shortly

Whilst Bunbury Mill has been closed to visitors, during the winter months, it's opening again on Sunday 26th March, between 1.00pm and 5.00pm.

A fabulous team effort by some of our volunteers is seeing the creation of a new kitchen area. With new cupboards, new worktops, better storage and even the addition of a boiling water system, we are going to be well set for the coming season.

Bunbury Mill is excited to announce that our cakes this year will be provided by Lockgate Coffee House at Beeston.

We are looking forward to choosing from a fabulous range which includes such favourites as Victoria Sponge, Coffee & Walnut, Vegan Flapjack, Bara Brith, Tiffin and Orange & Lemon gluten free loaf to name but a few!

Following a visit from the tree surgeons our dipping pond can now see the light! One of the three Willow trees had fallen in an earlier storm and was wedged into another tree inside the grounds of our neighbours United Utilities. That one had to be removed entirely but the other two have been "topped" and will in time regrow in a more manageable way.

It's been great to welcome 2 Primary school visits already this year. Arriving from Helsby Hillside and a return visit for the children from Llandudno, they all had a fabulous time making bread and learning about what life was like before iPads were invented!

Fancy being a volunteer tour guide at Bunbury Mill?

We are open each Sunday 1.00pm - 5.00pm and we run guided tours which last for approx. 45 minutes, and cover the history and running of Bunbury Watermill.

Full training will be given and when you feel confident enough you will join our bank of guides that cover the Sundays through to mid October.

The time commitment is what you are able to give, even if that's just one Sunday a month.

So if you have an interest in local history, in watermills or just have the gift of the gab and enjoy talking to folk, then why not get in touch with us to see what's involved, and whether this might be something for you.

... or just pop down to the Mill for a brew and a chat any Wednesday between 10.00am & 12.00 noon.

Rain or Shine Theatre Company have provisionally planned to return to Bunbury Cricket Club in July 2023, with their comedic take on Shakespeares "Comedy of Errors".

These events have run for the last few years now, and they always prove a hit.

The date and admission fee will be confirmed nearer the time, so please check their website if you are interested.
