Asda in Ellesmere Port marks 10th anniversary of its Community Champion & Green Token Giving schemes

A local MP has congratulated a superstore on a decade of providing help for good causes in the community.

Justin Madders has praised Asda in Ellesmere Port which is marking the 10th anniversary of its Community Champion and Green Token Giving schemes.
The MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston said: “The work of Community Champions, in tandem with the Asda Foundation, remains a lifeline for many grassroots community groups and charities and I am pleased that the businesses will continue to offer that strong support going forward.”

Founded in 2012, Asda’s dedicated Community Champions have supported thousands of grassroots community groups and charities. There are more than 390 Community Champions based in all large Asda stores across the UK, tasked with listening to their communities’ needs and working with local people to make sure the business is providing support to those who need it most. They work tirelessly to support charities, projects and initiatives that make a real impact for local people.

Each year Asda’s charity, the Asda Foundation, also invests into local communities through the Green Token Giving scheme, supporting thousands of local good causes. In 2021 the scheme invested £1.35 million into local communities, supporting more than 3,700 organisations to make a positive impact in their community.

This summer the Asda Foundation will be making £1.3m available across their grant programmes. Green Token Giving voting can now take place online by visiting:
