Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious assault in Chester city centre.
At 4.13am on Saturday 24 January, police were called to reports of an assault in Watergate Street, Chester, in which a 43-year-old man suffered a serious head injury.
He was taken to hospital where he remains at this time.
Three men, aged 20, 21 and 22, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. They remain in police custody at this time.
Detective Sergeant Stevie Jackson said:
“We’re currently in the early stages of our investigation and would like to reassure the community that this is believed to be an isolated incident.
“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to get in touch with us.
“The same goes for anyone who may have any footage.
