Detectives are appealing for CCTV and dashcam footage following an assault in Ellesmere Port.
At sometime between 9pm to 9.15pm on Thursday 30 September, a Ford Focus was travelling on the roundabout of junction 9 of the M53 near to the Boat Museum when the vehicle was forced into the roundabout.
The passenger of the vehicle, a man aged in his 30s, was then assaulted by three occupants of the other vehicle, all who were wearing balaclavas.
He sustained serious head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Kev Green said: “We believe this to be an isolated incident however we are committed in doing all we can to find those responsible.
“A number of enquiries have been underway since the incident occurred and we are now keen to hear from anyone who may have captured dashcam footage of the incident. The same goes to anyone who may have footage of the vehicles before and after to help us piece together what happened.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have information and has not yet come forward.”
