Appeal following two serious collisions in Neston

Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following two serious collisions in Neston.

Shortly after 6pm on Wednesday 26 April, officers on patrol in the area came across a collision on Chester High Road involving a pedal cyclist.

The cyclist reported that they had been involved in a collision with a black and white Mini Cooper which had failed to stop at the scene.

The cyclist sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and was taken to Aintree Hospital.

A short time later, at 6.20pm officers were called to a collision involving a black and white mini and a Skoda Octavia on Parkgate Road, Puddington.

Officers attended and found that the Mini had overturned an a 42-year-old man, was trapped inside.

Fire and ambulance crews attended the scene to remove the driver of the Mini and asses the drivers involved, both sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the mini, a 42-year-old man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and being unfit to drive. He is currently being questioned in police custody.

Enquiries in relation to the incidents are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incidents or anyone with any dashcam footage.
