Another house plagued by anti-social behaviour has been closed down by Blacon Beat Team officers.
The team secured a full closure order on the flat in Augusta House, Byron Close, Blacon following reports of drug abuse, anti-social behaviour and associated violence.
On 2nd May officers attended Chester Magistrate’s Court to secure a closure order under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
The order, which came into effect from 2nd May and will run for three months, is a direct result of officers responding to the concerns raised by residents regarding the behaviour at the property.
Residents in the local area provided enough evidence about the issues at the address for the team to be successful in obtaining the order.
PC Lauren Davies said:
“This closure will hopefully bring some peace for the local community which were having to endure such disruptive and harmful behaviour.
“Closures such as this could not be possible without the valuable input of residents, local authority, housing associations and private landlords. By working together, communities can only benefit from the positive action the beat team can take on their behalf.”
The occupant of the property will not be allowed access and will have to find alternative accommodation, with all windows and doors being secured for the three-month period. Anyone who enters the address during that time will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.
PC Davies added:
“This is the 14th Closure Order that the Blacon beat team have obtained in the last 12 months highlighting that anti-social behaviour and illegal activity will not be tolerated and we will stop at nothing to stamp out such behaviour.
“On the day we secured the house officers were greeted by a number of local residents who wanted to pass on their thanks explaining what a positive impact this will have on their lives.
“I’d urge anyone else suffering from anti-social behaviour to get in touch so we can help you too.”
