Live @ The Civic, a music and arts learning disability festival, is taking place at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall from noon to 8.30pm on Tuesday 18 July.
Following the success of the first-ever Learning Disability Conference in west Cheshire last year, people with learning disabilities have been calling for a music and arts festival.
Live @ The Civic is set to be another action-packed day, with live bands, dancing, DJs, singers, activities, quiet spaces, food and drink and much more.
The afternoon session will run from noon to 5pm, with an hour break before the entertainment returns from 6pm to 8.30pm.
Like the Learning Disability Conference, this event is both for and by people with learning disabilities to make sure it’s exactly what they want.
Not only have people with learning disabilities been part of a working group to plan all aspects of Live @ The Civic, but they’ll also be performing throughout the day.
The event is free for everyone to attend, whether you have a learning disability, support someone with learning disability or would simply like to attend a festival packed with entertainment.
Councillor Sheila Little, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said: “Live @ The Civic is going to be a fantastic event for people in west Cheshire and nearby areas to enjoy.
“The Learning Disability Conference last year was a huge success and this latest event is something people with learning disabilities were really keen to explore.
“There’s something for everyone throughout the day and it’s brilliant that people with learning disabilities have been involved with every stage of the planning.
“I’d encourage as many people as possible to get involved with this event and celebrate the amazing talent that will be on show.”
Booking is essential and tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Please note that the line-up is planned for the day, but this could change closer to the event.
