Excitement is rising in Westminster Park as local residents prepare for an evening of festive fun at the shops on Five Ashes Road on Tuesday 5th December 2023 when their Christmas Lights will be switched on by the Lord Mayor of Chester.
This pre-Christmas treat will include singing by Belgrave Primary School choir, seasonal refreshments supplied by Westminster Park’s local shops, festive music and even a visit from Santa!
Starting at 4.45pm with the arrival of the Lord Mayor of Chester, Councillor Sheila Little, this free local event is a family friendly celebration of the start of the festive season. At 5pm the Lord Mayor will count down to the Christmas lights switch-on and then Belgrave Primary School choir will entertain the crowd with a selection of Christmas songs. To complete the exciting evening, Santa will be appearing to listen to the children’s hopes and wishes.
During the evening, local retailers will be providing samples of their wares for everyone to try and organisers Westminster Park Residents’ Association are grateful for the generosity of S.J. Bebbington Butchers, the Co-op, Chatwins, Bebbington & Williams Fishmongers, The Emporium and the Sandstone bar.
This local event would not be able to take place without the amazing support of local councillors Razia Daniels and Matt Carter. In the run up to the event a number of sets of lights have been renewed with generous assistance from their Members’ Budget. Come along and see them sparkle!
