Chester based Animal Search UK Pet Detectives are searching for a missing family dog, Bertie, who went missing when on a walk-behind Chester Zoo, on Monday 19th October.
The Animal Search Pet Detectives will be in Chester, investigating in the locality, asking residents and appealing for information, the detectives will also be conducting searches of the area where Bertie was last seen
The Pet Detectives will have thermal imaging cameras to help spot Bertie as well as a detailed search plan to try and uncover any information
Owner Isobel who works for Animal Search UK said “He was on a walk-behind Chester Zoo with my Dad and our other dog. They were running around as usual and chasing each other, at some point he has been chasing a bird and has gotten lost. He is a very quiet dog and been brought up during lockdown, so is very wary of people and other dogs and often barks when they approach”
Bertie is a mini dachshund cross jack Russell and is a long wirehaired
Pet Detective Andrew McNair said “very often cats are found no more than a mile away, but with a dog, it is very different, they can cover large areas, and if confused can get lost, there is also the possibility that Bertie has been taken in by someone, they are a popular breed and it’s something we have to consider”
Andrew continued “Our most recent search, we found the dog after 5 days in the woods, so we never give up hope, it’s about being methodical and meticulous”
If anyone has any information please call our emergency animal hotline on 0800 4 320 340 and quote ALP390071
Animal Search UK is the largest lost and found pet organisation in the UK, and are asking residents to please keep a lookout and help Maddie reunite with her owners who are desperate to get her home.
