The family of a 72-year-old man from Ellesmere Port who died following a fatal collision in Chester have paid tribute to him.
Kenneth Harper died on Tuesday 22th October 2024, following a collision on Hoole Road, Chester.
A 75-year-old woman from Chester appeared at Chester Magistrates’ on Friday 18 July where she pleaded guilty to causing a death by careless driving in relation to the incident.
She was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 2 years, and banned from driving for 12 months.
Following the sentencing hearing, Kenneth’s family said:
“On the 22nd October at 5pm our lives changed forever.
“Kenneth, fondly known as Steve, was born in Canada with severe anatomical issues. He shouldn’t have survived, but he did, he was born a fighter. Throughout his life he was strong, he had such a drive to live and thrive, despite the adversity that he faced.
“He was a family man, selfless, kind, caring and always there to help others.
“He was the person who wanted to know everything, to listen, he was always there when we needed him, he will be missed by so many.”
Kenneth’s family have requested for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
