A brand new interactive, immersive theatrical experience, described as "The Traitors meets The Crystal Maze", is heading to Chester following a successful launch in Liverpool.
Described as a multi-location immersive adventure which blends live performance, escape rooms and smartphone technology "Lovestruck" is set to be staged at Storyhouse in Chester from Thursday 4th - Sunday 6th July.
Whilst proceedings might begin in the theatre, it soon becomes apparent that all is not as it seems as the event takes the audience on a journey through a hidden world – solving puzzles, exploring secret locations, and meeting some very enlightening characters along the way, culminating in a race against the clock and a thrilling final act. The game is most definitely afoot, but who is hunting who…? With the clock ticking closer to doomsday…can you save the world?”
Speaking about the immersive experience a spokesman for the show said:
"If you love escape rooms, solving puzzles and live theatre then "Lovestruck" will be right up your street. An experience like no other, it's one not to be missed."
Recent runs of the show in Liverpool have been described as "Hammy and hilarious" and "A hugely enjoyable romp".
With places limited, audience members will be allocated into teams of 6 on arrival. Groups of 6 wishing to participate together must book together.
Produced by Paperwork Theatre and supported by the Arts Council England and The Granada Foundation, "Lovestruck" is the brainchild of Co-Artistic Directors Nicole Behan and Hayley Greggs whose work often found in unusual places and community owned spaces, as well as traditional theatres. Their work is interactive, with audiences invited to become active participants in the theatrical and immersive experience.
