Tomorrow’s Women (TW) is a charity based in Wirral and Chester led by women for women, providing targeted interventions, courses, activities and support for women suffering from a range of issues.
Within the safety of their women-only centre, women can access support for issues such as domestic abuse, stalking & harassment, mental health, substance misuse, finances, confidence and self-esteem. Tomorrow’s Women aims to remove barriers for women accessing support by working together with a range of third sector and statutory organisations, offering advice, support and courses to enable disadvantaged women to fulfil their potential.
TW have trained staff who can offer support and guidance to women who are victims or survivors of domestic abuse, advising them on ways to keep safe or to flea the abusive relationship. In addition to this, helping them recognise red flags for the future, set healthy boundaries and allow them to build confidence. They also have solicitors within centre who specialise in this particular area should the woman need that kind of support.
Women’s mental health and wellbeing is at the forefront of the centre, offering group support sessions in this area and also holistic approaches such as yoga and meditation. They also have a counsellor on site offering free counselling sessions.
TW are hosting their annual International Women’s Day (IWD) events held at both centres on 7th March 2025 between 12PM-2PM. The theme for IWD is Accelerate Action which focuses on the importance of speeding up the rate of progress towards gender equality. It is estimated that at the current rate of progress, women won’t achieve gender equality for another 133 years, and it is vital that more is to be done to increase this rate.
The events will focus on this theme by welcoming speakers with backgrounds in women’s issues, as well as with their own stories of overcoming obstacles as a woman. There will also be a number of activities, videos, performances and refreshments to celebrate the day.
The event is open to any women aged 18+ years.
