This year’s Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Festival will take place at Chester Racecourse from the 28-30th August and not in its usual Easter timeslot.
It will be one of the first big events to take place in Cheshire, after release from lockdown and aims to be light at the end of the Covid tunnel. With messages of positivity and hope in mind, Taste Cheshire has chosen Claire House Children’s Hospice as its Charity for the 2021 event.
Taste Cheshire CEO, Stephen Wundke said, “We are proud to announce this partnership with Claire House and our aim is to help them raise a minimum of £5,000 during our event. Claire House, like many other charities, has been hard hit by the Covid pandemic and we want to do as much as possible to help get them back on track. We have created a special code for Claire House supporters who wish to come to the festival, which is CLAIRE20. This code not only gives anyone who uses it 20% off the entry prices but for every ticket purchased using this code we will donate a further £1 to Claire House. Quite simply, the more tickets we sell, the more people save, and the more they help Claire House, it is a win for everyone. Taste Cheshire will also be raising money at their famous Cheshire Food and Drink Awards and having digital bucket collections on each day of the Festival.
Josh Worrall, Partnerships Manager at Claire House, is delighted to be partnering with the Festival “Both Claire House and this Festival have been ever present for over 20 years and this seems the perfect time for us to work together. People need to celebrate with some great food and drink and in doing so, will enable us to help support local families using our services, during what must be the hardest of times. Despite the hardship of the last year, we still managed to support over 400 families with end-of-life care, counselling, play therapy and much more, and couldn’t do it without public support such as that of Cheshire Food and Drink Festival. The significant discount is a great incentive for everyone to use this code and enjoy another great year of food and drink, knowing you are helping to bring a little joy to families using Claire House with every ticket bought.”
Headline celebrity chefs for this year’s event include MasterChef’s, John Torode, the BBC’s Chris Bavin and star of Ready Steady Cook, Paul Rankin. They will be supported by recent Great British Menu Regional winner Stuart Collins and a host of other local Chefs, as well as free kids cooking classes, free BBQ Masterclasses for adults and free Adult Cooking classes with Brian Mellor. With over 140 different food and drink exhibitors, it is a fabulous four hours of family fun for under £20.
The three-day festival will take place from the 28th to 30th August at Chester Racecourse. For more information and to book tickets go to www.chesterfoodanddrink.co.uk remembering to use the code CLAIRE20 to buy your tickets.
