University of Chester students are on course to raise money for the only charity of its kind in the UK and lift spirits in lockdown with a virtual race night event.
TMK Events, a group of three BA (Hons) Events Management students, is hosting A Night at the Races in aid of The Cystic Fibrosis Trust on Friday, March 5.
The TMK Events team - Morgan House from Leeds, Natasha Mehta from Manchester and Kayleigh O’Connor from Coventry - is hosting the event, sponsored by David Lee Solicitors, online via Zoom, from 6pm to 9pm.
The evening, featuring nine action-packed races, is designed to allow members of the public to have fun and raise money for an amazing cause - all from the comfort of their own home.
Some fantastic race prizes and raffle prizes can be won, with a Google Home Mini and an Alexa among the top prizes on offer.
Tickets cost between £5 and £7.50 with all proceeds going to the Trust, which is the only UK charity dedicated to fighting for a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis, for everyone affected by the condition.
Morgan House, TMK Events Team Leader said: “We are really looking forward to hosting this event on behalf of The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, to help to continue their research and care for those living with cystic fibrosis. We hope our event is a fun and interesting way of raising money, enjoyed by everyone.”
Dr Tim Brown, Programme Leader for Events Management, added: “This promises to be a fun and competitive event, all in aid of a fantastic charity.
“The team has worked exceptionally hard to develop their virtual event skills in order to develop this event, and their professionalism has shone through. We are really proud of the team and the impact they are having for this cause.”
The tickets are £5 for a standard ticket, £7.50 for an owner/jockey option, and raffle tickets are £2 each (all prices include the booking fees).
