University of Chester students have organised a fundraising event with all the ingredients for an evening of fantastic food and fun.
Eventsify, an event organisation run by three Events Management students, Roxana Bali, Kirsten Munro and Ferni Leon, is hosting an Italian-themed virtual cooking class in aid of Chester Women’s Aid, on Wednesday February 3, 2021.
The online charity event will show attendees how to make a delicious three-course Italian meal. Tickets are only £12 each with the option to also purchase raffle tickets for £3 each. The event is being hosted on Microsoft Teams, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, and tickets are available on Eventbrite.
Eventsify is working with Chester Women’s Aid to raise money and awareness for the charity which supports people suffering domestic abuse. Chester Women’s Aid has volunteers who help provide domestic abuse victims with statutory sources of funding and raises awareness of domestic abuse through activities such as events and donations.
The Taste of Italy event will provide participants with the opportunity to learn how to make a three-course meal (for two people) and is presented by professional Italian chef Paola Cecchini, from Chester. The three-course menu consists of a confit tomato bruschetta for the starter, pasta with freshly made pesto for the main and tiramisu for dessert. A raffle will also be held and the winners will be announced at the end of the class.
Roxana Bali, Eventsify Finance Officer, said: “Since working with Chester Women’s Aid, we have learned so much more about who the charity are and what they do.
“This event gives us the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of domestic abuse to our attendees and university students, and it will help the charity to support those who are suffering from domestic abuse.”
Cara Fletcher, the Events Manager for Chester Women’s Aid added: “We are thrilled to have been chosen by Eventsify as their recipient charity and we cannot wait to see everyone enjoy the events they plan.
“2020 has seen a huge rise in the need for domestic abuse support and therefore we appreciate this support now more than ever.”
