A fashion showcase event hosted by University of Chester students offers the chance to meet designers online, get a glimpse of the latest collections, win style points and support a city-based charity.
Student-run events group, Eventful, is hosting Showcase Chester, bringing together fashion enthusiasts, designers and small businesses for a one-off experience in aid of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd on Thursday, March 11.
The online, interactive fashion event incorporates interviews with designers and a fashion and design quiz with some amazing prizes to be won - including Amazon gift vouchers, perfume sets, The Body Shop products and many more.
Showcase Chester is the vision of four second year BA (Hons) Events Management students - Lauren Kenyon, Lauren McIver, Olivia Sherratt and Mia Grove.
They have worked with local fashion designers and fashion students including Jade Williams, Georgia Baxter and Ellie Welsh, who will showcase their favourite pieces from their collections.
Taking place from 7pm to 9pm, tickets are only £2 and are available via Eventbrite, with the event being streamed via Teams.
All proceeds from the fashion evening will go to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Chester, which provides specialist palliative and end of life care for people in the local community. Their care and support are provided free of charge and they rely heavily on fundraising and donations to support the costs.
Lauren Kenyon, Team Leader of Eventful said: “We are really happy to be able to support such a worthwhile charity whilst at the same time hosting a unique, fashion-forward event.
“We look forward to welcoming people from the local community - and anyone with an interest in fashion - to join us, support us and enjoy a great evening.”
Justin Caroe, Community and Events Manager at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd said: “We are so grateful to the Eventful team for choosing to support the Hospice through their event. It has been very challenging for them to be able to host any sort of event and we were so pleased to hear it was still going ahead virtually. A lot of time and effort has gone into the organising of the event, so if you are able to do so, please do purchase a ticket.”
He continued: “The Hospice has had a very challenging past 12 months financially due to the cancellation of all our events and lost support, something that will continue as we head through these early parts of 2021. Needing to raise in excess of £3 million a year to keep our Hospice caring for the local community is more challenging now than ever. We couldn’t do this without our local community and our thanks once again go to the Eventful team.”
