Chester Zoo is going to be hosting a super special Christmas carol service, bringing together children and families from across Cheshire who have faced a challenging year, and recognising some of those who have gone above and beyond to help others in the community.
It's part of The Princess of Wales’ Together at Christmas initiative - one of 12 community carol services taking place across the UK being supported by The Royal Foundation. It’s quite the honour for Cheshire to be hosting one.
The service is being delivered by the Bishop of Chester, Mark Tanner, and a choir and a host of musicians will be performing some of the nation’s most beloved carols.
Among the invited guests will be children and their families, carers and teachers who’ve experienced a difficult year from three schools in Ellesmere Port and Chester; children from military families based at Dale Barracks, Chester, who may have a parent deployed away at Christmas; and young carers in the local community taking the burden of responsibility for their parent or other family members.
The zoo has long been a place where people come to make memories and so we’re ever so proud to be able to host such a special event for our community.
