Post Office Ltd is adding two extra stops to the Flint Mobile Post Office service to serve Shotton and Sandycroft.
A Mobile Post Office is a tried and tested way of serving smaller communities. It already serves 24 communities in the area.
Shotton Post Office branch is closing on Thursday 24 February due to the resignation of the Postmaster. We are reinstating Post Office services to the community with the introduction of a temporary Mobile service, whilst we continue to seek a permanent solution.
The new Mobile service will operate from the roadside by St Ethelwold Church, 97 Chester Road East, Shotton, CH5 1QD from Wednesday 2 March. The Postmaster for Flint will visit every Wednesday from 1- 3pm.
A temporary Mobile service is also being provided for Sandycroft to restore service, whilst we continue to seek a permanent solution. This new Mobile service will operate from outside the Methodist Chapel, Evansleigh Drive, Sandycroft, CH5 2PG from Wednesday 2 March. This will be every Wednesday from 10.30 – 11.30am.
To accommodate the new Mobile stop, there will be changes to the current service at Mancot with new times on a Wednesday. The new Wednesday times outside Mancot Community Library, Mancot Lane, Mancot, Deeside, CH5 2AH are 11.45am – 12.45pm.
Carol Williams, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to be adding Shotton and Sandycroft to the Flint Mobile Post Office service.”
- With over 11,500 branches, Post Office has the biggest retail network in the UK, with more branches than all the banks and building societies combined.
- Post Office is helping anyone who wants cash to get it whichever way is most convenient. Partnership with over 30 banks, building societies and credit unions means that 99% of UK bank customers can access their accounts at their Post Office.
- Cash withdrawals, deposits and balance enquiries can be made securely and conveniently over the counter at any Post Office; and the biggest investment by any organisation or company in the last decade is being made to safeguard 1,400 free-to-use ATMs across the UK.
- Post Office is simplifying its proposition for Postmasters with a focus on its cash and banking; mails and parcels; foreign exchange; and bill payments services.
- Research has found that visits to the Post Office help drive another 400 million visitors to other shops, restaurants and local businesses equating to an estimated £1.1 billion in additional revenue for High Street businesses.
- 99.7% of the population live within three miles of a Post Office; and 4,000 branches are open seven days a week.
