Prolific burglar jailed following nine day crime spree

A prolific burglar who went on a nine day crime spree just weeks after his release from prison has been sent back to prison.

Dillon Foreman was released from prison on 27 November where he had been serving a sentence for attempted burglary and car theft.

Just weeks after his release the 22-year-old reoffended when he broke into a house in Wolfick Drive, Spital, on Wednesday 30 December 2020.

Over the next nine days Foreman continued his crime spree targeting homes in Tranmere, Little Sutton, Ellesmere Port, Higher Bebbington and Hoylake.

During the majority of incidents Foreman gained entry via the patio doors and once inside he stole cars and computer systems while the owners slept upstairs.

Thankfully, his crime spree was brought to a swift conclusion when detectives from Ellesmere Port CID and Merseyside Police linked him to the incidents through CCTV footage, DNA and mobile phone analysis.

Foreman, of Charlescombe Street, Tranmere was subsequently arrested and charged with five counts of burglary, three attempted burglary, the vehicle thefts and one count of theft of a number plate.

He appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 5 July where he was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison.

In addition to his prison sentence, Foreman was also handed a ten year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

The CBO comes with a number of strict conditions and means that Forman must not:

• Enter within the boundaries of any private dwelling (including gardens and outbuildings) or commercial premises outside of business hours without the permission of the owner or lawful occupier in England or Wales.
• Deliberately touch, enter or attempt to enter in or on any motor vehicle, except public transport without the consent of the owner or registered keeper,
• Enter the exclusion area shaded in grey on Map A, or Map B and C outlined in red, except when passing through on a continuous journey using public transport or in a private vehicle and does not alight within the exclusion area.

If he breaches any of these conditions he faces up to five years in prison.

Following his sentencing, Detective Sergeant Graeme Carvell, of Elllesmere Port Proactive CID, said: : “Dillon Foreman is a prolific offender who targeted his victims in their own homes, the one place that they should be able to feel safe.

“Thankfully, as a result of the work by the dedicated team of detectives hear at Ellesmere Port, along with our partners at Merseyside Police, Foreman is now facing the consequences of his actions.”

“I hope that the sentence handed down by the courts provides some closure to the victims and enables them to move forward with their lives, I also hopes that it acts as a warning for other offenders.

“The message is clear, if you come to Cheshire to commit crime you will be caught and you will be brought to justice.”
