Chester FC are back in action, just two days after returning from the Isle of Man, as they host a Manchester United XI at the Deva Stadium.
The young Red Devils will pose a different challenge for the Blues in our preparations for the upcoming season.
After Wednesday’s contest we will have just two games remaining before our National League North campaign kicks off against Spennymoor Town on the 10 August.
THE OPPOSITION
United are expected to bring a mixture of Under 21 and Under 18 players to West Cheshire on Wednesday, which will provide unique test.
The same fixture was played last summer, when the Red Devils picked up a 4-0 victory thanks to goals from Charlie McNeill, Shola Shoretire and Noam Emeran.
The United side also featured Teden Mengi, Willy Kambwala and Hannibal Mejbri, who all made appearances in the Premier League last term.
THE GAFFER
Travis Binnion is the Under 21 manager at the club, having been appointed last summer.
The 37-year-old moved to Old Trafford in 2019 where he originally took the role of Head of Player development for the Under-14-Under-16 stage, before moving up to the Under-18s team in 2021.
His first season in charge of the Under-21s produced a league finish of 12th in Premier League 2.
ISLE OF MAN ROUND UP
As previously mentioned, the Seals only returned from the Isle of Man Festival of Football on Monday, after a useful and important weekend for the club.
On Friday night, the hosts, FC Isle of Man, were defeated 5-2 by the Blues, with the goals coming from Iwan Murray, Declan Weeks, Tom Peers and Dan Turner.
This was followed by another victory on Sunday morning, as we won by another three-goal margin, this time against Northern Premier League side Lancaster City.
Weeks, Turner and Peers all got on the scoresheet once again, but 17-year-old Oskar Rosenblatt stole the show with a brilliant finish late in the game.
Match Preview by Tom Bird.
