Alyn and Deeside’s elected members are urging patients to share their views on the way that a GP surgery will be managed in the future.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) have been managing St Mark’s Dee View Surgery in Connah’s Quay since 2019. Now the board is consulting with patients, and
Jack Sargeant MS and Mark Tami MP have urged constituents registered with the practice to have their say.
The health board has written to all patients outlining three options for the future.
Option 1:
Retain St Marks Dee View Surgery as a health board managed practice This means there would be no changes to the current arrangements.
Option 2:
St Marks Dee View Surgery would be advertised as a contract for potential new GP partners to take over This means that we would advertise the practice to see if new doctors would be interested in taking over St Marks Dee View Surgery. Services would more than likely continue from the current premises, but there would be some changes in management arrangements and some different doctors and nurses providing the service.
Option 3:
Disperse patients to other practices in the local area This means that patients from St Marks Dee View Surgery could be placed at another practice near to where they live.
Jack Sargeant and Mark Tami said: “It's really important that patients share their views, as we know many constituents have strong opinions about GP services and how they should be managed. Patients should contact the health board directly and let them know what they want to happen.”
