Cheshire’s police and crime commissioner is inviting members of the public to ask the Chief Constable questions about the police response to the pandemic in Cheshire.
Each week, PCC David Keane will hold a virtual Q&A session with CC Darren Martland with the first session taking place on Tuesday 21 April.
The commissioner is asking local residents and businesses to email in questions they would like the chief constable to answer ahead of time.
The sessions will form part of the commissioner’s reassurance about policing and the pandemic in his role to ensure Cheshire Constabulary is delivering an effective service.
The commissioner’s team will ‘live’ tweet the questions and answers on the PCC’s Twitter account during the sessions and the key themes of the questions asked will be published on the commissioner’s website after each session.
PCC David Keane said: “As we face a time of great uncertainty, it’s more important than ever that members of our communities have the opportunity to ask key questions of their police service.
“The coronavirus pandemic presents great challenges, not just to policing but also to our everyday lives, and we need to reassure people that policing resources are being managed effectively and efficiently to keep us all safe during this period.”
Cheshire residents and businesses are invited to send their questions to pcc@cheshire.pnn.police.uk with the subject title ‘Reassurance Q&A’ by midnight on Sunday to be answered the following week. Alternatively, questions can also be taken by phone during regular office hours by calling 01606 364000.
