Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of a man being assaulted by a group of young people at the junction of Valley Drive and Parklands in Great Sutton.
Police were called to the scene at 2.22am on 2 August. On arrival there was no sign of a victim or the suspects and despite a search of the area no one believed to be involved was located.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and locate the victim.
DC Sarah Lister said:
“The incident understandably caused some distress to those who witnessed it, and as a result we have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to residents.
“I’d urge anyone who witnessed the disturbance but has not yet spoken to police to contact us. The same goes for anyone with CCTV or dash cams that may have picked up the incident as it unfolded.
“I’d also ask the victim in this incident to contact us so that we can make sure you are okay.”
