It may be only June, but a Chester and Wrexham based community theatre company is already turning its attention to its traditional Christmas Pantomime, with several roles up for grabs.
Tip Top Productions are keen to hear from talented performers who would like the opportunity to audition for their festive production of Dick Whittington and His Cat which is set to be staged at Wrexham's William Aston Hall in December.
Main roles up for grabs include Dick Whittington (Male), a strong singer and confident lead, Alice Fitzwarren – Dick’s love interest; strong singing ability essential, Idle Jack – a high-energy comic role, ideal for a natural entertainer, Captain Fitzwarren – a fun, comic role with some singing, King or Queen Rat, a wonderfully wicked villain; must be able to sing and command the stage, Tommy the Cat – a unique role combining movement, comedy, and emotional depth; actor must sing and, Spirit of the Bells – Male or female; a magical, singing role that guides the story.
Speaking about the production, the show's writer and director, local Panto legend Peter Swingler OBE said:
"We're inviting expressions of interest from talented performers who would like to audition for this year's magical production - Dick Whittington and His Cat which promises lots of laughs, music, mischief and a sprinkle of Christmas magic."
Peter, who began his Panto career at William Aston Hall some 52 years ago added "Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a rising star with panto passion, we want to hear from you!"
