People with long-term neurological conditions and their carers are being invited to a free open day at the Neuro Therapy Centre in Saltney.
The Open Day at the Neuro Therapy Centre is on Friday 5th July, between 11am and 3pm.
During the Open Day people will have the opportunity to try out some of the Centre’s services during short taster sessions. Some of the sessions available will include mindfulness and meditation, arts and crafts, and a range of exercise sessions from seated exercise and Pilates through to strength and balance and boxing. There will also be the opportunity for people to see the Centre’s gym facility which is equipped with accessible equipment.
The Open Day is the third in a series of events which have been held to showcase the support and services available for people through the Access to Exercise and Wellbeing programme. This programme is a partnership between the Neuro Therapy Centre and Brio Leisure in Cheshire, and Greenbank Sports Academy and The Brain Charity in Liverpool, supported by the Walton Centre and a research project to influence future services being undertaken by Sheffield Hallam University.
Jane Johnston-Cree, CEO at the Neuro Therapy Centre, said:
“We’re looking forward to welcoming people and being able to show them the support and services available that can help them to maintain their emotional and physical health. This programme brings together the expertise of all partners to create and bring to the forefront a range of face-to-face and online services which can make a life-changing difference to people with neurological conditions, helping them to maintain movement, build strength, and cope with the life changes having a condition brings.”
The Centre supports people with a wide range of long-term neurological conditions including MS, Parkinson’s Disease, ME, MND, FND, Ataxia and Fibromyalgia through regular physiotherapy, tailored exercise opportunities, counselling and support groups, as well as opportunities for people to meet and share experiences.
