Nominations are now open for Marketing Cheshire’s Annual Awards, and the brightest and best of tourism in the county are being urged to enter and shine a light on just some of the good work taking place.
The awards are about showing excellence and outstanding achievement by local businesses and individuals working in Cheshire’s visitor economy.
The 2020 awards were cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning it is even more important to shine a light on the good work going on in tourism in the county and to get involved and enter the 2021/2022 edition.
There are 19 categories to enter including pub of the year, best manager, experience of the year and both small and large visitor attraction of the year.
Many of the winners will go on to represent Cheshire at national level at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022, showcasing Cheshire’s outstanding tourism offer on a national stage.
Nicola Said, Commercial Director at Marketing Cheshire, said: “The last 18 months have been incredibly difficult for people and businesses working in tourism as they have faced a range of challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Everyone has been working hard not just to provide a fantastic experience for visitors but keep them safe and now is our chance to celebrate that hard work and showcase just some of what Cheshire has to offer visitors.
“With a visitor economy worth more than £3.5billion, tourism and leisure have such an important role to play in our recovery from the pandemic and these awards are just one way we are doing that, so please get involved and enter.”
The awards take place on March 24 2022 at Nunsmere Hall.
The awards are free to enter and are open for entries now until October 15 with a shortlist announced on November 1.
