Much-appreciated paramedic advice on bleed control techniques were witnessed by MP Justin Madders when he paid a visit to Ellesmere Port Ju Jitsu Club members.
Hope Farm Community Centre is the venue for the family-run and community orientated club which was first established in 2004 by 6th Dan and chief instructor David Gardner.
Last year the martial arts club members raised funds for a defibrillator which has been in place outside the community centre since August.
The bleed control and general first aid advice witnessed by Mr Madders, MP for Ellesmere Port and Bromborough, was seen by club leaders as a natural follow on to the launch of the defibrillator.
A club spokesperson said:
“It was so good to see so many people turn up to learn about Bleed Control Kits, how to use them and all take turns doing CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
“Nights like these emphasise the amazing club spirit from all students and families.”
