Molly Wood bagged a superb four-goal haul as Chester FC Women came from behind to advance in the Cheshire Cup.
Despite going a goal down in the opening five minutes, Martin Fitzsimons’ side battled back to win in style at the Swansway Stadium against Nantwich Town. Wood scored her first of a memorable afternoon to level on 44 minutes after being set up by Emma Gray.
Just eight minutes after the interval the same duo combined as Gray won a loose ball and released Wood to find the top right corner.
And the hat-trick was complete on 63, firing into the same corner of the goal for the same result and give the Seals some breathing space.
Vienna Doherty pulled off an excellent save to keep the scoreline at 3-1, before Wood added to her tally with eight minutes to go in the 90, dispossessing the Dabbers’ goalkeeper to seal the win.
An impressive performance which sends the Blues through to the Quarter Final where they will host Stockport County.
