Chester FC Women slipped to third place following their first league defeat since September, as Poulton Vics leapfrogged them in the table.
The Blues started on the front foot, and had chances in the first half as Molly Wood shot wide early on before Ellie Bradley fired over from close range, as the two teams went in goalless at the break.
Poulton Vics, who were aiming to complete the league double over the Seals, got on top in the second half and – despite a good save from Sophie Foster – fired home on the follow up on 71 minutes.
Chester pushed late on but failed to find a way through as the visitors were victorious and went above Martin Fitzsimons’ side in the table.
Following a break for the Easter weekend, the Blues are back in action on Sunday 7th April at the Leap76 Stadium against Runcorn Linnets in their penultimate home game of the season.
CHESTER: Foster, Sands, Riley (Dowell 79), Randles, Locke, Adderley, Wood, Lloyd (Pasco 79), Redman (Bullock 64), Jones (Morris 71), Bradley.
ATTENDANCE: 127.
