Chester FC Women were eliminated from the Cheshire Cup, at the Quarter Final stage on Sunday, at the Leap76 Stadium against Runcorn Linnets.
The visitors took an early lead inside the opening five minutes down CH1 and held on to the advantage until the break.
Chester equalised midway through the half as top scorer Molly Wood levelled the scores – however the away team replied instantly and scored what was the winner with just twenty minutes to go.
The result sees the Blues now out of all cup competitions for 2023/24, but still battling on in an exciting league title race with Wythenshawe.
Their next fixture is at the Leap76 Stadium once again this Sunday, as Chester FC host Poulton Vics, looking for revenge after losing to them away from home back in August.
CHESTER: Foster, Sands, Riley, Locke, Adderley, Dowell, Wood, Morris, Redman, Halliwell, Bradley.
SUBS: Gray, Hollis, Lloyd, Gill, Jones.
SCORER: Wood 65.
