The Blues return to league action this weekend looking for back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
Blyth Spartans are the visitors to the Deva Stadium, a side who have made a strong start this term. Saturday’s opposition have lost just one of their opening six league games, and came through in the FA Cup in midweek with an away victory at FC United of Manchester.
Chester were also victorious on Tuesday night, winning their cup replay courtesy of a late James Hardy winner. Bern and Jonno will welcome James Horsfield back to the squad after missing the Darlington game, as well as being able to call upon a new signing in striker Jack Redshaw. However, there are still notable absentees set to miss out.
The Blues though can take heart from home comforts, having won both of their games down the Deva this month. These two sides didn’t meet in the curtailed 2020/21 campaign, the last time they faced off was on 8th February last year – as we came out victorious by two goals to one.
Kick off this Saturday afternoon is 3pm.
