Chester FC Women’s focus shifts to cup competition this weekend as they face Blackburn Community Sports Club Ladies FC in the 2nd qualifying round of The Vitality Women’s FA Cup.
Martin Fitzsimons’s side will be looking to maintain their early season form when they come up against Premier Division opposition on Sunday.
The Blues will be looking to bounce back from their 4-2 defeat to Runcorn Linnets FC Ladies last time out, their only defeat to date this season.
Blackburn have endured a mixed start to their league campaign, they currently sit 6th in the league having picked up seven points from a possible twelve on offer.
STAT ATTACK:
- Chester exited the competition at this stage last season losing a nine goal thriller 5-4 against Salford City Lionesses
- Blackburn made it all the way through to the first round proper last campaign ultimately losing 1-0 to Hull City
- Blackburn’s four league games this season have produced a combined total of 22 goals.
- Chester have only kept one clean sheet so far this season
