A man has been jailed for two-and-a-half years for drugs offences in Ellesmere Port.
Jake Swan, of Great Sutton in Ellesmere Port, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday 12th September where he was sentenced to two years and six months.
The 24-year-old had pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis, and possession with intent to supply ketamine.
At 12.25am on Thursday 8th June 2023, Swan was seen by police riding a pedal cycle through a red light in Sutton Way, appearing dazed and confused.
The officers suspected he may under the influence of alcohol or drugs and when spoken to, Swan admitted he had taken ketamine.
He was searched and a small bag of white powder, later confirmed as ketamine, was located, along with almost £700 in cash.
The same day, officers searched his address and located further ketamine, along with cannabis. Analysis of Swan’s mobile devices revealed evidence of being involved in the supply of cocaine, ketamine, MDMA and cannabis.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said:
“Swan had no choice but to plead guilty to these offences thanks to the evidence against him and I welcome the custodial sentence which has subsequently been handed to him.
“Our fight against illegal drugs and those who choose to supply them in our communities is never over and I would urge anyone with any information about drug-related activity to contact us.
“You can report any information via 101 or through our website.”
