A man has been jailed after pleading guilty to drug offences following a music festival in Daresbury.
Daniel Jackson, of Lionel Road, Eltham, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Thursday 20 June, where he was sentenced to two years and four months in prison.
The 29-year-old entered Creamfields music festival at around 6pm on Thursday 25th August 2022 when he was stopped following a positive indication by a drugs dog.
Following a search, Jackson was found to be in possession of a hairbrush that had been tampered with to allow for drugs to be hidden inside.
A quantity of empty snap bags was recovered from the hairbrush and Jackson was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
He was released under investigation while enquiries continued. During this time, an analysis of his phone revealed evidence of Jackson’s involvement in drug activity.
Jackson was later charged with possession with intent to supply.
Following the sentencing, DC Neil Fleming said:
“Jackson had no option but to plead guilty to the evidence stacked against him, and now he is facing the consequences behind bars.
“I hope his sentence sends a clear message to those who think they can travel to Cheshire to sell illegal drugs – you will be prosecuted and held accountable for your actions.”
