A man has been charged after a police officer was seriously assaulted in in Ellesmere Port.
Peter Murray, of Croft Court, Ellesmere Port, was arrested at around 6pm on Monday 16 January, on Thornton Road, Ellesmere Port.
The 34-year-old has since been charged with section 18 wounding with intent, assault by beating and theft from a shop.
He appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday 18 January, where he was released on conditional bail.
Murray is next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday 15 February.
The section 18 assault charge relates to the assault of an officer on Thornton Road, Ellesmere Port, on Monday 16 January.
The theft and assault charges relate to the theft of items from Sainsburys, Ellesmere Port, on Monday 16 January.
