Detectives investigating three robberies in Ellesmere Port have arrested a man in connection with the incidents.
The 19-year-old local man was arrested earlier today, Friday 10 February, after officers conducted a stop and search on Whitby Road, Ellesmere Port.
He has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is currently being held in police custody.
The arrest follows three separate reports of robbery on Westminster Park, Exeter Road, and Ellesmere Port Railway Station between the hours of 4.45pm and 9pm on Wednesday 8 February.
Detective Chief Inspector Justin Hancock said: “This investigation remains very much ongoing, although I hope that today’s arrest provides reassurance for the local community.
"While our enquiries continue, I urge anyone who was in the Westminster Park, Exeter Road or Ellesmere Port Railway Station areas and believes they may have seen anything suspicious or unusual, to get in touch.
"The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage that may be relevant to our investigation.”
