Active Cheshire, the lead for physical activity and sport across Cheshire and Warrington, are pleased to support Mission 84. A campaign created to raise as much awareness of suicide in men as possible.
The name of the campaign itself is linked to the shocking statistic that on average, 84 men in the UK take their own lives every week.
Creator of ‘Mission 84’ is from a company called Rage Fitness, they use exercise to tackle social issues and promote health and wellbeing. Based in Blacon, the company’s core purpose is to 'Improve Lives' by providing fitness, nutrition and mentoring programs to people of all ages and backgrounds.
CEO of Rage Fitness, Craig Brown will be leading this challenge, pushing himself physically and mentally to help raise awareness.
He said:
“A smile can hide a lot
“I hope this inspires us to look out for one another, and to know when to ask for help.”
In the UK, suicide is the highest cause of death among men under the age of 45. In fact, the highest recorded suicide rate in the UK belongs to men who fall in the 40-44 age bracket.

Every day, British people can spend as much as 75% of their waking hours sitting down. The severe and harmful effects of prolonged inactivity, include an increased risk of Type 2 Diabetes, cancer, heart disease and premature death. This has led to sitting being referred to as ‘the new smoking.’
Active Cheshire work with public health, local businesses, local government, education, environment, infrastructure and transport partners to name a few.
We help people take small steps to have a big impact on their quality of life.
